Coir, or coconut fibre, is the natural fibre extracted from the husk of the coconut.
The coir has spent the previous year in a covered bunker (after hosting strawberry plants for two years) - meaning no weeds, but retaining some of the nutrients from its previous life as host to our strawberry plants.
This mulch is ideal to mix with soil when planting - promoting root establishment. It improves soil structure and suppresses weed growth. The mulch has excellent water retention - it will absorb water and release it into your garden to help keep your plants hydrated.
Our team have shoveled the mulch into repurposed sacks to ensure easy collection from our Packhouse. Each sack weighs approximately 8 kg, depending on moisture level of the coir.
These can be collected from the office, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (or by arrangement).
